Born in Barnet in 1964, music has been part of the journey from the very beginning. Growing up around rock ’n’ roll, pirate radio, Radio Luxembourg, Capital Radio, African Beat, Jamaican Ska, Rudeboy and 2-tone shaped a lifelong connection to sound system culture and reggae music.
After leaving school and serving 9 years in the forces, travelling opened the door to discovering reggae, dub and dancehall on a deeper level through music, people and culture.
In 1997 came the first official gig with One Foot Skank Sound System, a personal setup built around a 12-scoop rig and a growing vinyl collection. Big respect goes to Wayne John at Direct Impact Records in Walthamstow for the guidance and support early on.
Over the years there have been performances at festivals, parties, weddings and events across the country, bringing reggae and dub vibes to dancefloors for more than 25 years.
After starting out on Juice Radio in the early days, the journey continued onto Galaxy FM with the “Sunday Evening Skank” Reggae & Dub show.
Judge Jules is one of the most recognised names in global dance music. A DJ, producer, radio presenter and music industry figure, he has spent nearly four decades shaping the electronic music scene. Since starting his career in 1987, he has built a reputation for high-energy sets, strong crowd connection and an ear for unforgettable tracks.
